Online Automatic Backup and File Storage Nirvana

Yesterday morning I destroyed a spreadsheet.
I have a spreadsheet I have used for tracking my personal finances for years. It calculates rates of return, portfolio distribution, dividends, and more. For almost ten years this spreadsheet has been a work in progress.
This thing contains my entire financial history for the mile nnium and I ruined it. Somehow I managed to highlight a section with my mouse, delete it and then save the sheet in one fell swoop. I must have had a seizure to do that, but it happened.
I surveyed the aftermath. Dozens of calculations were broken, historical data was missing. I was distraught. Not even the undo button would save me.
We normally think about data losses in terms of disasters; tornadoes, floods and fires. The truth is most data losses are caused by humans. In my case this morning, I caused an accidental deletion.
Luckily, we back up. All. The. Time.
I was able to recover the spreadsheet from my backup by going to My computer>Mozy. I clicked on the file, selected "recover" and had the corrupted file back within 30 seconds. I didn't have to call IT, I didn't have to find the correct backup tape.
If I hadn't had that backup it would have taken me several hours to lookup all of the lost data from bank statements and websites and another hour or so to fix all of the broken calculations. I forgot how most of them worked years ago.
It's a miracle. I'm glad were backed up to guard against natural disasters like me. Online automatic backup and file storage is the only way to protect against accidental delelition and human errors. Other backup methods are just too slow.
This backup is dirt cheap. It's starts at .50/gig and drops from there. It's automatic, it's real time, it's online.
I can install it for you in 5 minutes. Call me and we'll get started protecting your data. Meanwhile, if you like our blog posts, please subscribe by email or rss feed!
